Math:
We are skipping some exercise in the math workbook.  The ones that will be skipped are the ones that have adding and subtracting units.  We, Dr Brannan, Mrs. Kent, Mrs Johnson, and myself, have talked and this will not impact fourth grade.  We are skipping these because we feel like the Singapore book does not spend enough time practicing the multiplication and division process before moving on.   We are going to concentrate on being able to convert from a small unit to a larger one or a larger unit to a smaller one.  We are going to spend the extra time reviewing multiplication and division.   Please continue to review all math facts. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  This can be accomplished with flash cards, math apps, or math games.

Please continue to practice bar modeling at home. Here are the links to the bar modeling https://fortisacademy.wordpress.com/curriculum/math/

Composition:
We will be combining the beaver, swiftlet, and honeybee papers this week into one three paragraph paper.  They will need to add a topic sentence to start their paper from pg 103.  On Tuesday they will create a topic sentence about animal homes and then add their beaver paper to it.  If they left any elements out of missed anything please help them correct or add what is not there.  This will be a final draft.  Please have them bring this to class on Wednesday because we will be adding the swiftlet paper to the animal homes.  Thursday they will finish up the paper by adding the honeybee paragraph and ending with a final clincher from page 104.

Science:
This week we will begin the mixture unit.  The poem for this unit is "Mixture, Solutions, Oh My".  This will be accessed on Feb 25.  The answer to the quiz can be found on page 140
