Science Presentation:

Next Wednesday, Mar 6th will be the 3rd quarter science presentation. They can pick any topic in chapters 8-9 that they have enjoyed learning about, what they learned about the topic, what about that topic intrigued them, how does this impact our life, or why they think God chose to design our world that way.  The presentation needs to be at least 3 sentences.  They need to write them down in their science journal on the page labeled science presentation.  They can read their information however they will need to look at their notes and then look up to speak.  The same process as for an oral retell in IEW.  They can also bring an item in that goes with their presentation.

Composition:
This week we are going to be writing from pictures. There is not a source text. We will have three pictures and questions to answer to get write the KWO.
Monday - Complete KWO, brainstorming page
Tuesday - Oral retell from your outline, write RD, parents proofread.
Wednesday - Start writing the FD.
Thursday - Finish FD, parents look over FD to make sure everything is labeled and underlined.
All FD are to be written in cursive. If your child is still struggling with cursive. In the link below you can type their RD into the space and it will create their RD in cursive and they can copy in the line below. Select the option from the picture below. If you have any questions, please let me know.

We are not writing a new paper this week, we will be copying old ones. We are creating a new topic sentence about animal home and then copying the beaver paper, swiftlet paper, and honeybee paper. Once we have finished copying these into a three paragraph paper we will add a new clincher about animal homes and a new title.
IEW lesson 14 Amazing Animal homes pg 103-104. Teach pg 103-104. Write an introduction sentence and then copy the final draft of the beaver paper. Place the new FD in the campus binder to bring to school on Wednesday.IEW Continue Final Draft. Finish beaver section if not completed in class. Indent and copy the swiftlet paper to final draft of the animal homes started at school yesterday. Review vocab.IEW Finish Final Draft. Finish swiftlet paragraph if not finished in class. We will having a Valentines party on Feb 14th during the last 30 min of class.  One of our room moms will send out a sign up genius for snacks.  Students may bring Valentines to pass out to each classmate.  Below is a list of students in our class.  Please have your child bring a bag or box to put their valentines in.
