Grammar:
Review the definitions of the parts of speech. This can be confusing when they are trying to match these on the test.
Composition:
We will are starting the "Ant and the Grasshopper" this week. This will be the general schedule for IEW now.
Monday - KWO, introduce new material, Brainstorm page, introduce new vocab words.
Tuesday - Oral retell, write rough draft, parents proofread, review vocab.
Wednesday - Review new material, start writing final draft.
Thursday - Finish final draft if needed, parents look over final draft to make sure everything is underlined and labeled, review vocab.
We introduce lesson 5 vocabulary words this week. Vocabulary quiz on Wednesday will be over lesson 1-4 words.
Reading:
Beginning reading "Mr. Popper's Penguins". We will be completing a fiction book poster on this book. The book review will be due on 10/19.
History:
We will be learning 12 key dates during the year. We will be leaning 3 dates a quarter. At the end of the quarter there will be a quiz. The quiz will be accumulative as the year progresses. The dates are listed in the campus binder under the science and history tab.
