WORKBOOK AND TEXTBOOK EXERCISES:
Please grade all work by first indicating which answers are incorrect and then giving your student an opportunity to correct his/her mistakes before offering assistance. Initial the top when all problems have been completed correctly.

Fact Practices: Fact practice (FP) will be completed daily.  The previous week's completed sheets will be collected every Monday for a homework grade.  You will need to set a timer for 6 min.  If not finished, draw a line where they have completed too and have them finish the MF practice page for that day.

Science presentation:

Next Wednesday 9/28 the students will present a science presentation to the class.  They can pick any topic in chapters 1-3 that they have enjoyed learning about, what they learned about the topic, what about that topic intrigued them, how does this impact our life, or why they think God chose to design our world that way.  The presentation needs to be at least 4 sentence.  They need to write them down on note cards or a piece of paper.  They will turn in their note cards or paper with their presentation on it.  They can read their information however they will need to look at their notes and then look up to speak.  The same process as for an oral retell in IEW.  They can also bring an item in that goes with their presentation.   I have listed two examples below.  This will be a test grade.

Tides: I have been to the beach and love playing in the ocean that comes on the beach. I learned that the reason the ocean that comes up on the beach is called a tide. The tide are caused by the moon. As the moon goes through the different phases the tides change the amount that they flow onto the beach. I think that it is amazing how God made the moon effect the oceans on Earth.

Killer Whales: Killer whales are my favorite animal. They are really called orcas. Orcas live in family groups their whole lives. They are amazing hunter. They are also very smart. I loved learning more about orcas or killer whales.

Memory:
Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
Poetry:  Our first quarter poem is "Rise Up O Men of God".  A copy is in your student's binder under the memory section.  Practice this with a family member, pet, or stuffed animal as an audience.  If you really want a challenge, try using yourself as an audience in a mirror!
