CPT Testing:  Please bring quick, easy snacks, filled water bottle, and a book for your child to read if they finish a section early.  Any snack that requires a spoon or fork, such a yogurt or fruit cups, should be reserved for lunch. Your student’s snacks should be packed separate from their lunchbox so that they can quickly access them.


While this is low stakes testing, it is important that your child come to school each day on time and prepared to do their best. Please make sure that your student is well rested and has eaten a good breakfast. There is substantial time scheduled for snack, water, restroom, and stretch breaks.

Field Trip:
Fortis Academy third and fourth graders will going to the Johnson City Science Mill on Wed. May 1 for an amazing science field trip! It is a wonderful facility and the kids will have a great day making memories and learning at the more than 30 interactive exhibits as well as take part in a super fun learning lab. The cost of $11 per student includes all exhibits and the hour-long learning lab.

Please arrive at school by 8:45. We will leave promptly at 9:00am and return to school at 3:00pm. We could use a few parents to help drive/chaperone, so if you are interested, please respond with the number of students you can take. Parent chaperones are free.

Students may wear uniforms, or booster shirts with uniform bottoms.

Math:
Please continue to review all math facts. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  This can be accomplished with flash cards, math apps, or math games.

Composition:
This week we will be starting a unit about a favorite things.  This first week will be my favorite activity.
