*Please note: Because these are such extraordinary times, and we want to reduce any stress you may be feeling in regards to this online model, we are easing up on required assignments. We will now have color-coded assignments, focusing primarily on math, reading and writing. Everything in red on the blog is now optional, and will not be assessed . Many of these assignments your student can do independently, so they are still recommended, but not required.

Class WebEx Times:
9:30am - math lesson
1:00pm - read, discuss, games

Important Info:
CPT test is cancelled
Last Day of School will still be May 13th

Math:
Be practicing multiplication/division facts.

Here is another website to help practice multiplication facts.  mathusee.com

Grammar:
We are working on types of sentence for the next two weeks.
F-fragment
S-complete simple sentence
SS-two simple sentences
SCS-compound subject
SCV- compound predicate

Composition:
We will be writing three KWO on Monday. We are going to write a KWO for two different source texted and then we are going to learn how to combine those two KWO into one KWO. From the combined KWO we will write the RD and FD. Since this is a combined paper, I will be keeping the papers once they are graded.

The easiest way would be to have your child type up their IEW paper.  Have them highlight the dress-ups.  Then email it to me.  This way I can grade the paper and you can see any corrections.  OR you can have your child write the paper and email a picture of it to me.  I can then grade it but with this I will not be able to write any corrections for you to see.
All final drafts have to be written in cursive.

Reading:
We will continue to read “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” on Monday afternoon during the 1:00 session.   The reading exploration will be optional.  We will also continue reading “Little Pilgrims Progress” on Thursday and Friday.  The journal will be optional as well.

History/Science:
History/Science - History and science lessons will be optional.  The blog will have an activity, experiment or something that will go with the lesson that week.

We will be leaning 3 new dates this quarter.  The quiz will be accumulative as the year progresses.  The dates are listed in the campus binder under the science and history tab.

Quarter 4 dates
Charles V 1519
William the silent and a Dutch revolution 1582
Jamestown Colony Founded 1607
Japan's Isolation 1633
Louis XIV the Sun King 1661
