CPT Testing:
We have two days left of the CPT. The test will be approximately 90min each day. While this is low stakes testing, it is important that your child come to school each day on time and prepared to do their best. Please make sure that your student is well rested and has eaten a good breakfast.
Please bring quick, easy snacks, filled water bottle, and a book for your child to read if they finish a section early. Any snack that requires a spoon or fork, such a yogurt or fruit cups, should be reserved for lunch. Your student’s snacks should be packed separate from their lunchbox so that they can quickly access them.
Math:
The rest of the year the chapters in math are short, most only lasting a week to two weeks. With us testing at school I may only have one or two class periods with them before the next test. It is important to make sure that your child has a good grasp of what is being taught in each unit.
Composition:
In the final lessons for 3rd grade, you will be given prompts that tell you what to write about, but you will not be given a source texts or pictures. Where will you get your ideas about what to write? From you brain! How will you get the ideas out of your brain? By asking yourself questions.
If your student is still needing help on the topic sentence and clencher, please review it on pg 79-80.
Monday- KWO, Brainstorming page, review vocab words
Tuesday- Oral retell, write RD, parents proofread, make sure everything from checklist is included in the paper, review vocab words
