We are finished with our IEW books. We will be finishing the year working on a combined IEW/Science paper. We will start working on this paper Monday in class. I have already mentioned a little bit about the paper today in class. They will need to pick their favorite animal that we have studied this year. They will reread the information about the animal in their science book. They will choose three of the four topics, physical characteristics, habitat, what and how it eats, or how it moves. You are welcome to copy the page(s) out of the science book to make it easier to underline or highlight important details about their favorite animal. Please send their science book or the copied pages to school on Monday.
4/15 - pick an animal, work on the 1st KWO
4/16 - finish 1st KWO if not completed in class, complete 2nd KWO
4/17 - work on 3rd KWO
4/18 - Write an introductory sentence about the animal you choose. Example: Orcas are unique creatures in how they look, hunt, and move about the ocean. Then write your RD for paragraph 1.
4/23 - Indent and write RD for paragraph 2.
4/25 - Indent write RD for paragraph 3, don't forget to add the final clincher sentence, parents proofread
4/29 - Begin writing FD of paragraph1
4/30 - Indent write FD of paragraph 2
5/1 - Indent write FD of paragraph 3
5/2 - Finish FD if not complete. Look over to make sure everything is labeled and underlined, key words are highlighted. Turn in on Monday.
