Science		Read Diving Deeper, Mobility to Move, Nekton, Benthic, Sessile, and Plentiful Plankton pg 34-37 narrate what you read.	Picture Narration. Activity 2.1 Spot the mover pg 35.	Read Power of Plankton, Filter Feeders, Animal Classification, pg 37-40 narrate what you read.	Pick one of these topics, Plentiful Plankton, Filter Feeders, or Aquatic Habitats write a narration about the topic in your journal.	Journal entries need to be competed in the green journal. The entry needs to be three or more complete sentences. They may be in cursive or print 1st semester. I will collect the journals at the end of each chapter to grade the journal entries.

House keeping note- Please check Campus Binder Communication pocket. Students should return to class with this pocket either EMPTY or containing papers that are to be returned to me. 

Bible: Please KEEP the previous week’s prayer card that was written TO your student. A few students did not remove those from their Binders, which led to some confusion. 

Math:

WB/TB On-going:

Please grade all work by first indicating which answers are incorrect and then giving your student an opportunity to correct his/her mistakes before offering assistance. Initial the top when all problems have been completed correctly. 

*I ask students to work out TB problems in class on a white board, so that you can use the TB in future yrs, if desired. 

FP On-going:

One pg will be completed daily.  The previous week's completed sheets will be collected every Monday for a homework grade.  You will need to set a timer for 5 min.  If not finished, draw a line where they have completed to and have them finish the math fact practice page for that day. 

Ch 1 Test correction due date is listed above. Working thru any incorrect answers provides an opportunity to work towards skill building/mastery and to raise the assessment score.

IEW:

We’re continuing to create key word outlines (KWO). Remember, only three words can be used on each line of the KWO. An UNLIMITED number of symbols and numbers can be used. The goal is that students accurately RETELL the source text information using only their KWO. If they have trouble retelling in complete sentences, edit the KWO.

Spelling: I sent an email outlining specifics about Wed test.

Reading: We concluded our discussions of The Hundred Dresses last Wed. My goal has been to encourage students to identify “whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy…” Phil 4:8

What should we do if we witness unkindness? Who gives us courage to act when someone is being unkind (ie others are gossiping/slandering in our presence)?

If we think that outward appearance is important or are concerned with gaining man’s approval, can we renew our minds by thinking on Phil 4:8? I love the promise in the verse that follows- practice these things, and the peace of God will be with us!

Science:

Please bring the science textbook and journal to school on Wednesday.  

*Inspire awe and wonder in Our Creator by digging deeper into water density, specifically what happens to water after it reaches maximum density. Not many other substances become LESS dense as they approach freezing. God’s extraordinary design and provision is on display, as we learn more about a water molecule. Its properties make it especially suited to support and protect life!
