Math:
If your child is struggling with addition math facts, please spend extra time practicing them. We will have a timed math facts test for a test grade on 10/3.
Grammar:
Reminding your student of the
Shurley jingle that matches the definition may help. You will not be doing any
Shurley vocabulary at home for the remainder of the year as we will be focusing
on IEW vocabulary.
Composition:
Students will now be completing a
rough draft every week. They may use up to 3 vocabulary words from lesson 4.
Each vocabulary word from lesson 4 is worth 1 extra credit point.
Continue to practice proper
formation of cursive letters at home. Writing on notebook paper, rather than
handwriting paper is new for some students this year. Please help your student
with this transition.
Science:
The answers to the quiz can be found in the teacher's guide pg 44. The Atoms and Molecules poem will also be assessed.
Reading:
We are starting "Squanto, Friend of the Pilgrims" this week.
Memory:
Please spend time during your school
day to work on our school wide scripture, quarter 1 poem, geography map &
song, history timeline song, and Periodic Table poem. Feel free to get
creative and practice these in the car, at bedtime, or during meals.
