Bible:
We will be doing a study on the courage of Christmas the next two week.  This is a bible devotional off of the YouVersion app.  The devotional is called "The Star: Courage At The First Christmas"  if you would like to read the devotional that goes along with the Bible passages on homeschool days.

Math:
We are taking a small break from long division and learning about tables.  Please keep reviewing long division because we will be having an accumulative test on Dec 9th.  If there are any areas that your child struggled with during this first semester please review these before the test.  We will have a review on December 8th in the workbook.

Here is a website to help practice multiplication facts.  mathusee.com

Grammar:
We will be testing over possessive nouns this week.  Be reviewing the rules.  Continue to review the different types of pronouns.

Composition:
We will be taking a break from writing IEW stories until after the Christmas Break.

Reading:
We are finishing "Soft Rain" this week.  We will be completing a character diary on this book.  Your child will write an entry everyday about how they would feel, think, what they might do if they were on the same journey with Soft Rain.  Each day they read they will need an entry about what happened that day and how they would feel or what they saw, ect.  The entry needs to be at least three complete sentences.  The journal will be due on 12/7.

History:
We will be learning 12 key dates during the year.  We will be leaning 3 dates a quarter.  At the end of the quarter there will be a quiz.  The quiz will be accumulative as the year progresses.  The dates are listed in the campus binder under the science and history tab.

Quarter 2 dates
Charles V 15194
William the silent and a Dutch revolution 1582
Jamestown Colony Founded 1607
Thirty Year War 1618
Louis XIV the Sun King 1661
Sir Isaac Newton 1666

Memory:

Please spend time during your school day to work on quarter 2 poem, We Thank Thee, geography map & song, Oceania, and key dates. Feel free to get creative and practice these in the car, at bedtime, or during meals.
