Math:

Be practicing addition, subtraction and multiplication facts.  Please work on any areas that may be difficult.  Between now and January we will be building on what we are learning.  

Grammar:
Review the definitions of the parts of speech.  Practice how to find different parts of speech in other text such as Mr. Poppers Penguins, the science reading or history reading.

Composition:
We are continuing to learn how to write a story using a Story Sequence Chart Outline. This week we are writing the final draft The Little Dutch Boy.

M - Make a new paragraph and write RD for the climax and resolution
T - Proofread RD, Start writing FD for setting, characters, and background
W - Make a new paragraph and write FD for the conflict
Th - Make a new paragraph and write FD for the climax and resolution add moral and title. Make sure everything is labeled and underlined.


Reading:
We are continuing to read Mr. Popper's Penguins.  Answer questions in black reading journal.  The reading question will ne due Nov 15.

History:

We will be learning 12 key dates during the year.  We will be leaning 3 dates a quarter.  At the end of the quarter there will be a quiz.  The quiz will be accumulative as the year progresses.  The dates are listed in the campus binder under the science and history tab.
